Love, Hate, Love
“Thousands of lives were shattered by three separate acts of terrorism: the attacks on the World Trade Center, the London bus bombing and the Sari Club bombing in Bali. This inspirational documentary tracks the difficult journeys of three families torn apart by these events as they struggle to pick up the pieces, create lasting legacies for loved ones lost, and ensure love triumphs over hatred.”
“Service is the rent we pay for being. It is the very purpose of life, and not something you do in your spare time.” - Marian Wright Edelman.
This was no ordinary field trip. No one was prepared for the emotional adventure that the film, Love Hate Love would take us on. My 11 and 12th grade scholars had the opportunity to make connections from our in-class discussions on psychological disorders, engage in a Q&A with the director/movie subjects and experience the Tribeca Film Festival with substance.
I pray they remember today and incorporate the lessons learned into their lives just as much as I will.

“Sitting by the window in a cafe small and sweet, deeply hidden in the heart of a beautiful town that could easily be mistaken for Shambala, I hold my brown ceramic mug with both hands and sip slowly of its contents, a tea brewed from the root barks of the Amazon and calmly gaze into God’s face. Then, I begin to lose my mind.” -DropxLife

“….it traces a woozy, debauched journey over nine slow jams that join the current conversation in hallucinatory r&b and indie rock….” - Will Hermes (Rolling Stone)
